I thoroughly enjoyed playing this. It has good hidden depth to it without over complicating gameplay. Well done.

Me ha encantado! Observo cierta influencia de Rogue64, pero este Warlock tiene más desarrollo. Muchas gracias Haplo!

Great game! At first it doesn't look as such but playing it you discover an entertaining and satisfying experience. Congrats!

Quality game!! Refreshing to play a human crafted game in this sloppy day and age. Love the hires gfx and secrets!

It’s really great seeing people write new games for C64. Your games are always so good with great graphics, audio and playability. Please keep the games coming!

Super fun. Fantastic soundtrack.

Me gusta!!!

Very good and atmospheric game. Congrats!

Great game, thanks.

Haven't played very far yet, but I'm really enjoying this! I love the unique style in all your games and this seems to be the deepest one yet. Excellent work, thanks for making another awesome new C64 game!

featured.... Again :p https://www.indieretronews.com/2026/08/warlock-top-down-action-slasher-by.html

Thank you as usual.

You're welcome matey!

Awesome!

Another great game. I died on level 5 on my first try... And a 14 letters code, wow. Hard to remember or to copy without any mistake.

But the game is entertaining. It is a "I want to try again to see how far I can go this time" game.

And with a little luck, seeing the end at least once :)

Thanks. Note that when you die, you will continue from the same map. You don't go back to map 1.

I noticed the fact you can continue on the level you die before. Nice touch!

Prioritise the 3 damage upgrades and the 12% more experience perk over the rest.

(1 edit)

I activated the "12% more experience" and it helped. Will activate all damage upgrades when I can check them. Thanks for the info.

Congrats on your release!!

Found 1 bug I think, when a bat moved on top of a gem, and I attacked, it seemed to take no damage.  I kept trying.  Only we I moved him off would he die.

I haven't been able to reproduce it so far. Are you sure you were facing the bat?

Perhaps - I think the diamond was above me.  I'll try reproduce it.

And here we go, the first three maps! Thanks for this, h4plo! :-)

A really good game 👍

Of course we're making a physical edition, right? 😉

Shut up and take my money :D

(+1)

Hehehe 😂 Exactly 😁

The information says “In development.” Is this now the final version?

Thanks, fixed. It's the final version.

Wow, this is a lot of fun & the soundtrack absolutely ROCKS!

Very nice action game with great attention to detail, especially regarding the high-resolution graphics. Our German-language preview can be found at 01:36:02. English subtitles are also available. Subscription to our YouTube and Twitch channel is welcome. 🙂

Very nice game!

I am wondering... What is that "Progressbar" on the bottom doing? Tried to figure out, what is it good for, can not find any explaination...

(+1)

Your experience bar. When it gets full you level up, your stats improve, and you get upgrade and perk points.

Ok, makes sense :-P. Thank you :-).

very good

This is very interesting. It reminded me of Tenebra in the sense of discovering the map. At first, I thought it only did damage to the sides, but then I realized it also does damage up and down.

I couldn't find a way to reload the arrows. ⚔️🪓🏹

Congratulations! We look forward to the final version! 🤩

Arrows can be replenished by picking up quivers (which don't exist in the preview version).

Featured! :) https://www.indieretronews.com/2026/08/warlock-top-down-action-slasher-by.html

My first thought was: another roguelike game. But when I saw the levels are always the same, I changed my mind. For a first preview, it is interesting even if bats are a PITA!

Can't wait to play the final version!

(+3)

Exactly, it is not a rogue-like game. As for the bats, don't rush at them; wait for them to come to you.

(+1)

I rarely see top down rpgs. And thanks for the tip. I'll try to apply it next time I launch the preview version.

(+2)

Looks promising :) Thanks for the preview!

(+1)

Thanks for the preview, was FUN to play it. First blind play, so everything thats happend in the video, is "first time/first discovery" :-).

Dude, when you die you get a garbage sprite. I would advise to not ask money for this. And certainly not 5 euros, that's just not on.

(2 edits) (+4)

Thanks for the bug report. I will try to reproduce it. This is a preview version, bugs are expected. Would you mind sending me a screenshot of that garbage sprite, to  haplotenebra AT gmail? It will help me find the root cause. Thanks.

And thanks for playing. The game is free (like all my other retro games). People can make a donation if they want to. You're welcome to download and play it for free of course. There is no obligation to donate.

(-2)

I'll try to recreate the sprite and send you the image.
I know it's kind of a trend nowadays to ask for donations. But personally, for an unfinished product, I feel it's a little off-putting, even to be asking for it.
Regardless, I really like this game! And I will definitely buy it once it's done.

(-5)

A neat idea! I'm going to have a look although I would not consider paying for an unfinished game.

A game with colour by Haplo! :D Nice
