We are very proud of the sound system we have developed for the game! The game will have three audio modes:

  1. Music only
  2. Music with some sound effects
  3. Ambience tracks with full sound effects

There will be six tunes, and three ambience tracks that play depending on where the player is (outside, in the caverns, or up in the tower). There will also be 25 sound effects for different events in the game. We have used the capabilities of Goat Tracker to the maximum.

You can press the CBM key to cycle through these three modes any time during the game.



But that is not all. Add to that:

  • Run-time patching based on the SID model
  • Dynamic sound effect channel selection depending on the audio mode (sharing with music in one of the modes)
  • A proximity calculation system that plays the enemy/event sound effects only when the player is close enough

And you get one sophisticated sound system on C64!
